I Have Arrived

Hello everyone,

I should note that all of my time referents from here on will be in Japan time. Right now it's 6:30am, and I arrived yesterday around 1:30pm. The jet lag didn't hit that hard; I was extremely tired by 10pm, but isn't that somewhat normal? Anyway, I haven't done much except go for a walk through Shinjuku and Shibuya to dinner and squeeze in some practice with Japanese. It was still surprisingly sufficient for everyday life. I have been to these areas of Tokyo before, but I don't recall seeing so many sex shops, and I'm not sure who their targets are, because they had advertisements entirely in English outside. Attached are some pictures which show the view from our hotel for orientation. The first picture shows a relatively famous government building with interesting architecture. The others are just for show. Drop a comment just to say hi if you please. I'll update again soon. In the meantime, enjoy what's left of Sunday, America!

I'm glad to see you arrived and got yourself situated. Have you stayed in the honey comb hotel yet? When do you move into your apartment in the south? We missed you this weekend in Wildwood. There were some moments you would have appreciated. They're too hard to explain in words... but had you been there you would enjoyed it. Also, what e-mail address should I use to e-mail you? I believe the Lafayette addresses are deactivated January 1st, 2009. I might be mistaken though. Do you have a gmail address?

Good luck with moving into your house/apartment/xbox training dojo. I'll e-mail you or talk to you on skype once I have something substantial to say.

I'm interested to hear what happened with Wildwood / Shane. Brendan, there is a link to my email, KyushuChris@gmail, in my blog profile, and yes, that's when our accounts expire. Mike, Japan has been nice so far: not too rainy, the food, culture, karaoke, are all like I remember them, so I'm getting along pretty smoothly so far. Thanks for stopping by, guys.

Well the best thing that happened at Wildwood was when we were warming up for a game near the path from the boardwalk to the beech. This guy in his early 30s and his two kids are walking back, and one of them falls down and starts crying. While he's handling that, his other kid starts wandering off, so the guy starts yelling at the top of his lungs "GET BACK HERE!"

Both his kids start crying before the guy's mother and father come by and then everyone starts yelling at everyone else at the top of their lungs. The best part of it was when the guy yells at his dad "I'LL NEVER BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU DAD!" It was classic.

Besides that, the actual tournament was okay. We only ended up getting in 6 games over two days because a team called "Clown Porn" never showed up for our game, and it started downpouring during the middle of our 2nd game on Day 2. We ended up 3-3 or something.

We are glad that you arrived safe. We missed you at your mom's surprise birthday party. Laurie and Truman came up to celebrate with us.
Be safe and happy. Looking forward for the updates on your site.
Always love,
E&C

Glad to hear that you made it back to Japan. Are you going anywhere else before you settle down in Kagoshima? Have you had any problems adjusting this time around or picking up the language again at a comfortable level?

I wish I could be going back there as well, but maybe I'll at least be able to take a trip in the somewhat not too distant future. I hope all is well and good luck with everything.

新しい仕事がんばって
